argument reflection
WOOOHOO another project done for english 105. It seems to me that this project was the same thing as the multimodal but switched into a argument. I didnt like this project as much as the first one because they started to turn into the same things over and over again. I will say that it was kind of fun to post my position on the subject that i chose to do my project on. It was also kind of cool to see both sides of the story instead of being bias. All in all i did not like this project as much as the first few we have done in here.

proposal for argument
For my argument project i'm going to be doing do violent video games cause aggression in people who play them. I believe they do cause people to become more aggressive. I've been playing video games my whole life and i think this is a major topic now with all of the violent video games that are being created and all the people that are blaming violent video games for what they have done to society. I will talk about both sides of the argument but i will focus more on how it causes aggression and who it has more effects on.

Reflection blog of multi-modal project
I thought the multi-modal project was a good project and taught you how to incorporate many different things into your online project. I have never done a podcast for a project so that was a new experience for me and i realized that it helped the viewer of my project understand what i'm going to talk about in my paper. Ive done many power points back in high school and i know how they work but i thought using a power point in this project helped get more into your topic like pictures and helped the viewer interact with it. The part of the project i didn't like was the synthesis. It didn't seem like we got a lot of feedback on our synthesis and it didn't help me write my actual paper for the multi-modal project at all. The other part of the project i didn't like was that the paper was in the same format as the hypertext and i thought it was going to be something different so i'd learn something new but again i was let down.

Reflection Blog
This blog is a reflection on my hypertext essay and what i thought was good and what i thought was bad. I learned alot of things from doing this hypertext essay. I never had to do one of these before and using the hyperlinks and all of the websites i found made this so much easier for me to do. This was like another project i had to type out but i had to insert hyper links to help make my paper flow and help the reader of it not get lost amongst all my words. It helped me summarize many articles too and also helped me get more information on the topic i chose which was should wikipedia be used in high school and college classes.
Proposal
What i will be working on for the rest of the semester in this class is Do violent video games make teens and kids violent? I believe that this is a problem because the video game industry is becoming huge and more and more kids are becoming addicted to video games that may be way to violent for what they're doing. I'm taking the side that violent video games don't make teens violent at all and that people just put the blame on video games because they cant find the real reason why people become violent and harm others. There are more reasons then just video games on why people are violent and i will inform you on what some of those reasons are.

Technology
Technology has had a HUGE part of my life. I use my computer every single day. I also play video games a lot which technology has changed so much since the very first video game system. The biggest piece of technology i use is my cell phone. I have a Sidekick which allows me to access the internet and use instant messenger on my phone while still being able to use it as a phone and for text messaging all my friends. When i was little i used to have to buy every single cd i wanted. I would've never thought I'd ever have anything like an Ipod to carry all my music and videos around everywhere i go. I use every one of these things each day and they have changed the way we live and the way i personally live greatly.

Cyberculture
Everything about us is on the Internet. Whether it is our email or our phone number on Facebook to pictures of what we look like and the high school we went to on Myspace it’s a terrifying thing we call cyber culture. I was introduced to cyber culture in my freshman year of high school and thought of it as a cool way to interact with friends and let people know about you but I had no idea that it would blow up and the whole world would be using it multiple times a day. A few years after that I was introduced to a new virtual community, and that was the online gaming community for the video game World of Warcraft. I didn't like the game so I stayed away from it but it’s hard to believe people devote their whole days to playing this game. Right now i still have the same myspace since freshman year of high school and have just recently made a facebook. I check both of them everyday so i guess you can say I am an addict?? Cyber culture and the virtual community have gone beyond my expectations and have let me talk to people that i thought i would have never ever spoke too.

group defining of pop culture
Pop culture is the way we express ourself whether it be the clothes we wear, the music we listen to, sports, television shows we watch, hair styles, and the technology we use. We also get influenced by the celebrities, if we see them wearing a certain style of clothing we have to have those kind of clothes. Pop culture is a part of everyday life we use our cell phones, computers, and mp3 players everyday. A lot of our pop culture comes from what we see on television.

snap crackle pop culture!
Whether you know it or not pop culture has effected the way you live in some way. It can be anything from the clothes we wear, the shows we watch on TV, or the music we listen to pop culture has changed our ways. Pop culture didn't change the groups of friends I used to hangout with back in high school I got along with everyone but it can change them depending on what you believe is the normal group of friends. Another big form of pop culture is the reality shows that are being made these days. They are some of the most ridiculous shows you could ever think of but the American people get hooked on them. Music effects pop culture too. Everyone has a different taste in music and this could be the reason you hangout with the group of people that you do. The media effects pop culture the most, the media tries to get you to believe everything and not think outside the box on what is normal in our society. We can't define what normal is we just believe it is what the media says it is.
